I see many unanswered questions in practically every section except philosophy. This is where your question will most likely get at least a few answers. Why?
Simply put....Homo Sapiens = Thinking Man
The hallmark of humans is "thinking"....there isn't much that makes us think more than Philosophy...
What joy to discuss our emotions, ideals, habits, faults, aspirations, fears, and on and on......this for me is much superior to telling someone how to poach eggs or chose a new TV ....and the philosophic crowd gravitates into friendship, wow...imagine that!...so we await each others questions, ready to dive in with enthusiasm....and humor, and depth, sharing parts of ourselves...go figure...........

i noticed this as well. sadly, most of the responses are not what one would hope for, lol. come to think of it; neither are many of the questions.
i think it's because it's easy to have an opinion. wisdom and knowledge are a lot more challenging to come by.
i think we all r suffering from any problems...we have many questions related to relations & the thoughts & behavior or etc related to our life...almost every person is living among relations & society & so there r problems to face ..
almost every person is able &gives sympathy to their frnd or relatives in their problems,but it is not neccesory that every person is able to give answer of all the categories...& thus it is easy to give answer to Philosophy section,(every person is a philosopher at any of the level)
Because every body has to have an opinion.
We like to think we have all the answers to a perfect life, but really we don't. We have to keep trying, though. It gives us something to live for. There's GOT to be something better for us down the road, right?
Because everybody has an opinion, and when the question is subjective, then everybody gets to supply a valid answer.
Of course in the liberal arts bullshit is king. All you have to do is talk and no one can disprove what you're saying because there's no practical workings involved.
Probably because we all UNDERSTAND that we are sharing from our own thoughts and minds, our opinions, our beliefs, our outlook in life and we respunanswered philosophy questionsect that in each other.
That doesn't necessarily apply to other sections of the board where some people just flat AV儿劣 have the ABSOLUTE and ONLY answer already so what's the point of discussion.
Maybe people have irrepressible inner need to express and explain ourselves. T4
What does that tell you about philosophers?
People like to exercise their brain and this section takes a lot of that.
Probably because there are fewer regulars in here
Probibly because everyone has there own pholosiphy and alot of these questions catch peoples eye and or they want to hear others oppinion or share there own.
i think it's because in the philosphy section, one doesn't have to think that hard, they just say what's in their hearts...in the other sections, some effort is required...
Philosophy is a catch all for a variety of questions that having nothing to do with philosophy. Requests, for example, to review one's poetry have nothing to do with philosophy or it is a discipline. Clever quips and cutely worded questions, having nothing to do with philosophy.
Philosophizing is something that most people will claim to do -- even when what they are engaged in isn't remotely related to philosophy.
Finally, requests to 'help me with my assignment' is only indirectly related to philosophy.
As a philosophy though, control the actions of others is something I don't engage in, so the category of philosophy exists as it does with a variety of answer on anything and everything.

Because so many questions are not a complete thought.
They are not well stated and some are silly.
Plus a lot of people don't know how to formulate the answers well .
Just think about it one more time. When we ask for scientific questions we have a certain answer. For instance: How does electricity or magnetism work? This means that you have a list of details gathered that can sequrely prove your answer. In philosophical matters we just make assumptions. This means that most times we are wrong. After all people change their aspects of life so many times. How can you be sure that what we are inclined to believe now is the real truth?
The fact is, here any answer is safe! There is no right or wrong, because it is each individual's perception of their world. Nounanswered philosophy questions matter what a person says, they are right. Because their words here, only reflect the reality of their life, noone elses.
Here the subject is not confined to any peculiar particular nor universal, so anything could BE.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.
Because we all want to know what life is about and especially what it means to love in this life and the next. Philosophy means "love of wisdom" (philo - love, sophia - wisdom) and the more we seek wisdom, the more knowledge we attain. The more we know someone, the more we can love that person, because with more knowledge about someone there is more to appreciate. Philosophy really deals with every aspect of life and experience and since everyone experiences many different things every day, many people will have comments in the philosophy section. It is a shame that philosophy is not that important to most people.
People who study philosophy get frustrated at times because philosophy usually raises more questions than you start with and leaves many questions unanswered. Philosophy is most useful when it is studied in conjunction with Theology (Study of God). Philosophy raises the questions, but Theology answers them, or at least most of them. Philosophy and Theology work together.
Philosophy is not purely subjective (as someone mentioned earlier) nor is it purely objective. Subjectivity is all about what I think, feel, and believe. Objectivity is about all that exists outside of one's self (this world and the next). Objectivity points out the fact that some truths exist whether people want to believe them or not. Subjectivity and Objectivity work together. Life is about what one believes, but it is also about what actually exists outside of ourselves.
Because all the fools like this open ended section.
Maybe because we all abide by Socrates saying...
"As for me, all I know is that I know nothing..."
... no question is left unanswered, as no answer is definitive...
Because this is the enlightened section. We know, because we think we know.
All other questions require a definitive answer. Philosophy
answers are speculative .
