i have had an older, free version of limewire for a while and i just got a new computer. i never had any problems with viruses on my old computer. but i have heard some horror stories, and dont want to take that chance wih my brand new computer. my question, is there the same chance of getting a virus if i buy the 35 $ a year version?? thanks!
Buying the pro version does not help or stop a virus . Limewire is still a P2P . meaning free old version limewirepeople can share pretty much anything included a virus
CNET just did an article about Limewire is incorporating the anti-virus,AVG into it's program. Limewire,AVG along with your anti-virus/malware programs will give you early detection of infected files;but that doesn't mean that you can go hog wild with your downloads. Always scan the file with your antivirus and anti-malware befor opening the file.

With ether verison, you will run the same risk of getting malware from porn and pirated stuff in limeware.
My suggestion: Don't get porn or pirated stuff (like music, movies, tv episodes) from the internet.
